Biography

Mehran Hospital Industries, as the first manufacturer of hospital equipment in Iran with 50 years of experience and more than 50 kinds of products commenced its activities in 1952 with the endeavors of Mr. Kazem Akbari Nakhjavani by manufacturing the first Cobalt Chamber as per Professor Afshari's order (Radiologists). After such an accomplishment, he then proceeded with design and manufacture of Negatescope (lasting 3 months from data collection to manufacture of a sample) and further managed to make different models of Single, Double, Triple, Fifth which were all previously just imported from Philips of Germany.

In view of later developments and in order for establishing a mass production line, he rented a workshop in Hashemi Street of Tehran. Within these years, as a result of his innovation and strive, he was introduced to Red Crescent Society by Professor Afshari and Dr. Arbabzadeh to  manufacture hospital beds which were imported from South Korea by air with high expenses. To this end and in order to increase the quality and quantity and meet country's requirements for hospital equipment and consequently its independence in this field, he purchased a piece of 2500 square meter of land in Karaj Old Road and built  Mehran Hospital Industries Factory there in 1959.

Mr. Kazem Akbari Nakhjavani obtained the Establishment Permit No. F/240/863 from ministry of economy of that time.

Also, he was granted membership in Iron Makers Syndicate under the card no.0177 in Nov 21, 1973.

In January 05, 1977, the industrial ID No.356498 as for a capacity of 170 tons/year was issued for him by ministry of industries and mines.

High quality mass production in compliance with the standards requires appropriate machineries and in this line, such equipment were provided from Switzerland, Italy and England and that necessitated 400 ampere electricity supply for the machineries. It was under such circumstances that he started with furnace color equipment for the first time in Iran.

Hence, the 70s decade serves as the outset of paying special heed to the design and quality of Mehran Hospital Industries. In this decade up to the advent of the Islamic Revolution, about 6000 hospital beds were delivered to Red Crescent Society.

At the end of the decade and beginning of 80s decade after the Islamic Revolution, despite the war situation, Mehran Hospital Industries never halted its production line and put all its strength to assist and provide equipment for mobile and border town hospitals one of which was delivery of about 12000 litters to Islamic Guardians.

Furthermore, under such conditions and with the war casualties' need, Mehran Hospital Industries began to design and manufacture recovery beds adjustable to be a chair that later turned into mass productions upon Islamic Guardians Organization's approval.

In these years, various projects were carried out in vast cooperation with Mehran hospital industries such as equipping hospitals, clinics, health centers by ministry of health and social welfare organization.

In 90s decade, Mehran Hospital Industries strived earnestly to optimize its products with its approach to increase their durability under its motto )Mehran Hospital Industries' Products should not be Disposed( and put it into practice through enhancing its after-sale services.

In 1991, following graduation of Eng. Farzin Akbari Nakhjavani in two fields of Welding and Mechanics a new strength was brought to Mehran Hospital Industries' department of design and manufacture.

At this time, upon execution of health and treatment projects outside borders of Islamic Republic of Iran, the quality of Mehran Hospital Industries' products was welcomed by the officials to the extent that encouraged them to ask Mehran Hospital Industries for equipping their centers outside to keep their country's dignity and position worldwide. From these projects, we can refer to hospitals in Mecca and Medina equipped by Tehran General Health Office.

Increase in number of customers and enhancing company's ability to meet such demands paved the way for manufacture of different products of high quantity. Since such an endeavor was not possible in manufacturing process with the current personnel numbers, Mehran Hospital Industries set to launch a new factory within a land area of 5000 square meters and 1500 square meters manufacturing area to be able to achieve this objective by employing and training new working force.

In the new decade, as another step to attain to high objectives of the organization, Mehran Hospital Industries studied quality management systems in hospital equipment – ISO 9001-2000  ISO13485-2003- as represented by Eng. Farzin Akbari Nakhjavani and built the ground for establishment of such systems such as personnel training, documentation, etc by appointing a consultant. Upon execution of these issues and establishment of standard documentation and internal auditing, Mehran Hospital Industries eventually succeeded in obtaining standard quality management certifications ISO13485-2003, ISO9001-2000 for manufacturing of hospital equipment.

At the same time with the establishment of quality management systems, in order to heighten the quality and durability of its products color, Mehran Hospital Industries decided to replace its furnace color system with electro-static powder color system in a new factory with a land area of 5000 square meter and 2000 square meter of manufacturing area to make it unrivaled in Iran in respect of quality, quantity and diversity of products (more than 50 kinds of products within a manufacturing area of 5000 square meters).

In this decade, due to the crisis stemmed from manufacture of low quality hospital equipment by disqualified companies leading to the customers' bewilderment and frustration, Mehran Hospital Industries, as an experienced frontrunner company in this field, prepared and submitted its hospital equipment required standards setting proposal to the Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran in 2004 and following its approval in 2006, Mehran Hospital Industries, with reliance on its technical know-how, current international standards, 50 years of experience and competent executive force set to planning and coordinating the initial and final technical meetings for standard setting in accordance with the stated timetable and finally put it into effect from September 2007 and within a period of eight months the set standards, which exceeded 12 standards in the first stage, were presented to the High Council for Standard Setting for their final approval.

In 2007, with its approach to increase non-oil exports and its share of the foreign markets and further facilitation of its international communication, Mehran Hospital Industries established a branch called Mehran Teb Med managed by Eng.  Farzin Akbari Nakhjavani with an office in Canada.

The last measure taken by the company in 2007 was its focus on further improving of quality and quantity of the color of its products.

Implementation of automated electro-static powder color line instead of manual color system set the scene for the parts to automatically go through three stages of washing, oil-removal, and phosphate. All these three stages not only raise the parts resistance against corrosion but also make a more adhesion situation for the color and therefore enhance their durability.

Environmental approaches stemmed from management's view of this company served as an initiative for study of standard series ISO14001, OHSAS 18001 by department of quality guarantee of this company in 2008. After preliminary and final studies, to establish the standards, an agreement was made with a consultant company as approved by ministry of industries and mines and related training courses and documentations were carried out. The term of this project has been estimated up to the beginning of 2010.

Long background, high quality and durability of products, good services and customer-oriented of Mehran Hospital Industries after about 50 years of sincere services have all formed the grounds for its customers' trust in this company and this goes as far as that some of the new hospital equipment manufacturers, as an initiative to promote their products, advertise themselves under different titles of an ex-partner, colleague or one associated with Mr. Kazem Akbari Nakhjavani or introduce their companies as a branch and affiliate of Mehran Hospital Industries.
